Kyle Griffin is a serious but good-hearted and intelligent 30-year-old security guard in Virtua who once served the Virtua Police Force (VPF) for five years since he was 24. He resigned at the age of 29 after the untimely loss of fellow police detective Arthur Cox during the pursuit of a dangerous group of weapons dealers.
Several days later, Kyle eventually settled down for a less stressful job as a security guard. However, despite his success as a security guard, he is still traumatised by the death of his best friend Arthur and is reluctant about rejoining the Virtua Police Force believing that he must become stronger if he wants to protect others.
Ever since Arthur’s death, he has been training six days a week at the Heracules Gym in North Virtua and developing his personal fighting style. After hearing the announcement of a global fighting tournament hosted by the Royal Family, Kyle Griffin boards a flight to Fortuna and signs up seeing this tournament as his long-awaited opportunity to put his developed fighting skills to the test and determine whether or not he is strong enough to rejoin the VPF.
This character was mainly influenced by several stereotypical male hero characters such as Kenshiro from The Fist of the North Star (1983) and Neo (portrayed by Keanu Reeves) from The Matrix (1999) for their serious personalities and rough physical appearances.
